Synopsis
Quest – A New Hero In Fantasyland is our most popular children’s musical. The catchy songs, humorous script and fairy tale characters make it the perfect production for the whole school. Brandon T. Mann (“the T stands for The”) is the ultimate cool, contemporary hero. He is shadowed and adored by his companion, brandon l. (“little”) mann.
(Gender neutral casting options available and included)
Once upon a time, the Magic Mirror gives him an urgent message. Brandon must save Fantasyland.
The evil Orica has threatened to destroy all of the best loved fairy tale characters. These include Snow White, The Three Little Pigs, The Three Blind Mice, Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Orica is assisted by her rapping accomplice, Groova.
The Brandons’ Quest is to collect certain coloured objects from various fairytales to form a rainbow, which will save Fantasyland.
Fun and games follow as the fairy tale creatures are astounded to encounter the Brandons as they burst into their fairy tale lives.
Can the Brandons complete the Quest?
Or does Orica destroy the fun of childhood forever?
Quest – A New Hero In Fantasyland is a clever, whimsical children’s musical – bursting with fun, but profound in the life lessons it leaves behind about resilience, trust and identity.
Its blend of memorable fairy tale folk, appealing heroes and catchy modern songs, makes it the perfect musical for all ages.
The beauty of this musical is that it can be adapted to suit both large and smaller school productions. The script includes ‘core’ songs with the bonus of additional optional songs also included. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our production of Quest – A New Hero In Fantasyland. The songs were fun and it was great that there were ten songs, plus five optional songs, so we could choose the songs we wanted to include. The dialogue had lots of humour too.
Overall, the community received the play well and the students enjoyed it.
